Josh Stellmon is proud to be the partner in charge of Haglund Kelley’s office in Astoria, Oregon, where he lives and works full-time. Following 12 years of practice in Portland, Josh moved to Astoria in 2018, where he saw the opportunity to return to his small-town roots and not only provide Astoria, Clatsop County, Tillamook County, and Pacific County with topflight legal counsel, but truly impact a community.
During law school Josh was a member of the Lewis & Clark Law Review, serving as Articles Editor in 2006-2007. Following his first year of law school Josh served as an extern for Judge Michael Mosman of the United States District Court of Oregon. Josh joined Haglund Kelley, LLP as a summer associate in 2006, became an associate following graduation from law school, and has been with the firm ever since.
Josh’s practice runs the gamut of civil law. His primary practice areas include real property disputes, transactions, and negotiations, business and contract disputes, transactions and negotiations, and landlord tenant law (commercial and residential). In addition to practicing other areas of law, including construction, personal injury, and maritime law, Josh represents several small municipalities in both Oregon and Washington, and Federal Indian tribes as part of Haglund Kelley’s Indian law practice. In any area of practice, Josh always focuses on what is best for his clients long-term and short-term, economically and practically.
Growing up, Josh was always proud of how his father not only ran a business but took time to be heavily involved in their community. Josh hopes to carry on that tradition. To that end, Josh has been a member of the Liberty Theatre Board of Directors since 2019, serving as Board President from December 2020 to present. Josh is also a board member of Clatsop County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a member of the Downtown Historical District Association Organization Committee, and a member of Astoria Rotary. His local representative clients include Fort George Brewery, Pig N’ Pancake, Teevin Bros Land & Timber, Blaylock’s Whiskey Bar, several local developers and property owners, and a range of other small local businesses.
While most Josh’s clients are in Clatsop and surrounding Counties, Josh has multiple clients in the Portland Metro area and is always willing to meet at the firm’s Portland office to address (old and new) client needs.
